RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW | giorgio moroder feat. kylie minogue

Giorgio Moroder is back with a new album! 74 is the New 24!

The 74 year-old is giving us music for the young at heart, like himself.

As the leading single to his long-awaited album, he released:

And, now, he's released his collaboration with the one and only Kylie Minogue:

Disco is not dead! Remember when Madonna tried to bring it back with her Confessions on a Dance Floor. Moroder is the king of disco. After all, he invented it by producing hits for Donna Summer.

Their collaboration lets Kylie's vocals dance with Moroder's beats. A happy union.

The rest of the album will feature Britney Spears, Charli XCX, Foxes, Sia, and more.

Let the album drop soon already. The world needs to dance to those songs. <3

HIGH | FEMME

Introducing: Femme, British singer, songwriter, and producer whom you should be listening to right now. She just finished supporting Charli XCX on her tour, alongside Elliphant. Talk about girl power! With her pink hair, killer moves, and innovative electro-pop, Femme opened the show this past Saturday night at Slim's in San Francisco.

Earlier this month, she released "High." Layered, upbeat, and fun, the track showcases her ability to beautifully blend together different sounds in an infectious harmony. Girl knows how to have fun, and how to infect that fun spirit into her music.

"Double Trouble" is a track from earlier in her career. You can hear the layering, see the pink, and feel the DIY attitude. You go Femme! I'm rooting for you.

Femme, I'm glad to have been able to see you perform at this stage of your career. You were great, and I see you only getting bigger. Keep doing what you do, because it is effin fantastic.

Love you girl,
FELIX | Aesthetic Aficionado

BREAK THE RULES | charli xcx

Charli XCX is not your typical pop artist --- she defies the prescribed pop music image and sound. She does her own thing. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Following the success of "Boom Clap," she now shares with us another catchy track.

"I don't want to go to school / I just want to break the rules," Charli XCX sings on her new single. Despite summer ending too soon and fall semester rapidly approaching, she is not ready to say goodbye to the good times just yet. Imbued with the hedonism of her youth, "Break the Rules" is a party anthem.

The track is our first taste of what's to come with her sophomore album Sucker, scheduled for an October release date. So far, I'm liking the flavor. And so my love for Charli XCX continues to grow! :-)

press play | "octahate" by ryn weaver

There's a new name in pop music: Ryn Weaver.

Weaver is an LA/NY-based singer. That's pretty much all we know about her. Up to this afternoon, Ryn Weaver was not even on our radar. With her track "OctaHate," she managed to change all of that. Color us intrigue. But we're not alone. Everyone wants to know: who is Ryn Weaver? where did she come from?

Earlier today, Weaver released her debut track "OctaHate." Co-produced by Passion Pit frontman Michael Angelakos alongside Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat, the track and Weaver have already been endorsed by Jessie Ware and Charli XCX.

Listen for yourself. Press play.

Let me know what y'all think of this girl from my hometown. #LAPride

the sound of my heart | "boom clap" by charli xcx

As the Chipotle Cultivate San Francisco Festival nears, let's take a look at one of the artist on the music lineup: Charli XCX.

Since 2012, I've been following her rise to fame from a music blog stapled artist to the iTunes top charts. She wrote Icona Pop's song "I Love It", she's supported both Ellie Goulding and Marina & the Diamonds on their respective tours, and is featured on Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" track. Her debut album True Romance (2013) was well received by music critics and music bloggers alike. And, she has just released the music video for her song "Boom Clap," written for the The Fault in Our Stars soundtrack.

The track starts with a bam (a "boom clap," to be precise) - similar to how love can unexpectedly hit you out of nowhere. You didn't see it coming. But it's here now. And it feels so good, so so good! Time to enjoy it!

First kiss just like a drug
Under your influence
You take me over you're the magic in my veins
This must be love

Needless to say that I am very excited to see her perform live this upcoming Saturday in Golden Gate Park for the Chipotle Cultivate SF Festival. And best of all, it's free!! Yes! There's free admission to the festival. As if I needed another reason to love the Bay Area.
