Back in May 2014, Swedish soul pop singer Seinabo Sey released "Hard Time." It has only now found its way to my ears. Better late than never. Her soulful voice is rich in talent, power, and beauty. Listen for yourself.
The opening lines "Hard time forgiving/Even harder forgetting" remind me of the opening lines from the 2007 Grammy award-winning song "Not Ready To Make Nice" by the Dixie Chicks. Even both music videos employ the black-and-white color scheme. There's something about betrayal and anger that can quickly make you see the world in black-and-white. Forgiveness lives in the grey. Or at least it does for these womyn.
I'm also feeling some Adele vibes. Is that just me?

The chant-like singing manner of the track powerfully conveys the message of growing pains.
"This time I will be
Louder than my words
Walk with lessons that
Oh, that I have learnt
Show the scars I've earned
Louder than my words
Walk with lessons that
Oh, that I have learnt
Show the scars I've earned
In the light of day"
Thank you, Seinabo Sey for this beautiful track of growth. Sweden, you simply continue to call me. I guess I have to start booking my trip to you sometime soon.
